On the sidelines of Mumbai's seven-wicket victory over Gujarat Pune, their second in as many games, Zaheer, whose figures read 4-0-34-2, was examined by Indian team's physiotherapist Nitin Patel.u00a0 Though the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) kept mum on Zaheer's fitness, an insider said that the left-arm speedster "is unlikely to be fully match-fit before the end of the Australia series".
It remains to be seen if the national selectors, who have announced the squad for first two ODIs, decide to rush Zaheer back into action.
