An unsavoury tiff between an IPL official and GMR officials threatened to snowball into an ugly situation, including a scuffle, with the IPL official reportedly threatening extreme steps against the GMR officials as well as the team, Delhi Daredevils.
It is understood that the official was stopped by the security personnel when he tried to get into the Ferozshah Kotla during Daredevils' first match on March 17.
The incensed official took his ire out on some senior GMR officials, including Sunil Valson, who was a part of the 1983 World Cup-winning India team.
It is understood that the official threatened to cancel Valson's accreditation and also other severe sanctions, to which Valson objected, resulting in the tiff.
According to information received yesterday, GMR have stepped in to sort out the situation but refused to take any action against Valson. However, they have assured that he won't be coming to the stadium.
None of the officials were available for comment.
