Bangalore: The injury-enforced break has done something to Virat Kohli. While in the nets yesterday, he was hitting the ball as powerfully as before, but there was a certain mellowness that came to the fore when he addressed the media here.

He didn’t say so in as many words but the Indian captain did convey the message that he may have gone overboard with some of his reactions during the bitterly-fought series against Australia.

"During the course of such a big series, you tend to go into a zone. Sometimes you think on hindsight maybe I could have done things differently, handled myself differently. But in the larger picture, you understand what’s important for the team," said Kohli, talking about ‘that" series for the first time since the final day’s play in Dharamsala.

Talking about the fact that most of the focus during that time was on him. Irrespective of whether he played or not, Kohli said: "I can’t control the focus bit. What the cameras and the TV package do is not in my control. So I wouldn’t say I will be disappointed if the attention is on me again because I am used to it by now. But I’ll definitely handle it better than I have in some instances in the past."
