The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made it clear that they have still not taken any decision regarding hosting the fifth and final match against England scheduled to be held in Chennai from December 16, following the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday night.

BCCI Secretary Ajay Shirke said: "No decision has been taken regarding hosting of the fifth match of the Test series. We are in constant touch with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, local authorities and are constantly monitoring the situation. BCCI fully understands the sensitivity of the matter and will keep everyone informed."

Taking into consideration the situation in the state, the BCCI have rescheduled the Ranji Trophy Group 'B' match between Orissa and Jharkhand which was scheduled to be played at Dindigul in Tamil Nadul from today. "A fresh venue and dates for this match will be announced soon," Shirke added. A popular political figure in Chennai, Jayalalithaa pioneered many programmes for the poor. Tamil Nadu have announced seven days mourning.
