Perth: The Indian cricket team that arrived here on Monday for their next two World Cup fixtures (Feb 28 vs UAE & March 6 vs WI) had the day off yesterday.

The defending champions will train at the Western Australia Cricket Association ground this afternoon.

Players were allowed to leave the team hotel for lunch yesterday and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was among the first to step out into the 41-degree heat.

Dhoni was accompanied by his deputy Virat Kohli and pace bowler Mohammad Shami as they left the hotel around 1:30pm.

Interestingly, Dhoni has always gone out with different members of his team during the off days of this World Cup.

A couple of days before the clash with arch-rivals Pakistan two Sundays ago, Dhoni had stepped out for a flamed grill chicken lunch with left-handed batsman Suresh Raina and left-arm spinner Axar Patel in Adelaide's Bank Street area.

Interesting exercise
Then, just before the Melbourne Cricket Ground fixture against South Africa, Dhoni with Raina and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja headed out to have some Mexican wraps and juice.

It is not known whether this is a deliberate attempt from the skipper to increase the bonding with his subordinates in a high-pressure event, but it's an interesting exercise anyway.
