"Initially I could not believe the news and I immediately contacted Kumar Sangakkara's wife here. I was so shocked and became speechless for some time," said Erandachie from Colombo yesterday. "I could only speak to Thilan after 1.30 pm. I have had several calls from him thereafter.u00a0 I am not too aware about the intensity of the injury though."

Julie, the wife of Sri Lanka coach Trevor Bayliss, would also not want her husband to ever travel to Pakistan following the terrorist attack. "I don't think Trevor would ever want to go to Pakistan," she said over telephone from Sydney. "Perhaps for a long time there would be no tour to this country either. Trevor called me no less than six times from Lahore and kept me informed about the situation."
