Happy to be in IPL: Shilpa

Rajasthan Royals co-owner Shilpa Shetty Saturday expressed relief at overcoming all the "constraints" the consortium faced and the timely clearance they got to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL)-4.

The Bombay High Court last month cleared the Rajasthan Royals to play in the IPL after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) terminated the franchise for lack of transparency in their shareholding pattern.

Royals, the inaugural IPL champions, bought Rahul Dravid, Johan Both and Ross Taylor in the morning sessions.

"We have had many constraints in the run up to the auctions. We are really happy that we are here," said Shilpa.

The team purchased New Zealand batsman Taylor for a whopping $1 million and picked up veteran Indian batsman Dravid for $500,000. The franchise retained South African Botha for $950,000

"Ross is an attacking batsman and we are happy to have bought him," said Shilpa.
