A host of leading Indian sports stars posted Diwali greetings on social media yesterday but former India cricketers, Gautam Gambhir and Mohammad Kaif's posts stood out, given their sheer care and concern for the needy.

Gambhir posted this picture to his 5.75 million Twitter followers with the message: "For some, every day is Diwali and Diwali is like every other day. Let's care for them."

Kaif took to Twitter to post this picture with the caption: "Buy diyas from such hardworking people on the streets. Let's not bargain and make their Diwali worth celebrating. #HappyDiwali."

Both messages received over 3000 'likes' each.
