New Delhi: Sunil Dev, who was the manager of the Indian team during the 2014 tour of England, has revealed that the fourth Test between India and England played in Manchester in 2014 was fixed.

In a sting operation conducted by a Hindi daily newspaper, Dev was reportedly caught making startling revelations.

Dev supposedly said that the team meeting before the Manchester Test it had been decided that India would bowl first because the conditions were wet and cloudy. But Dhoni surprised everyone by choosing to bat first because he had fixed the match, claimed Dev. India lost the Test match within three days with India losing the match by an innings and 54 runs against England.

Dev also added that he had raised the matter with the then president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) N. Srinivasan, who appreciated the information but did not want the report to be leaked in the public.
