Bangalore: Former India Test player and Karnataka State Cricket Association Secretary Brijesh Patel has been named manager of Indian cricket team for the Twenty20 World Cup to be held in Bangladesh from March 16 to April 6, KSCA said in a release.

Patel had worked as chairman of the national selection committee for the Indian national team and resigned after suffering a heart ailment.
Patel played in 21 Test matches from 1974 to 1977, and sustained a batting average of 29.45. His highest Test score was 115 not out.
While his international cricketing career was not particularly productive, he made 37 hundreds and over 11,000 runs in First class cricket.
