What next? A Sachin Tendulkar Trophy? Yes, if sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India are to be believed.

During an informal meeting in Chennai where 21 BCCI member representatives met to tackle the BCCI Annual General Meeting issue yesterday, some members suggested that a series be named after Tendulkar.

Although these are early days in terms of deciding on the series, a few BCCI members in the corridors of power want Tendulkar to be honoured in this fashion as well.

BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel was non-committal on the Indian board approaching such a decision. "It is too premature to talk about it at the moment.

Before naming a series after Tendulkar, we have to first get into a bilateral series talk with some country. We should first get a commitment from the other board. We want a prestigious series to be named after Tendulkar," Patel told mid-day.
