Israel’s raid on the Nuseirat refugee camp has caused outrage, with the EU calling it “a massacre”. The death toll has risen to 226 and more than 400 others wounded, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office.

Doctors describe the scenes inside Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza as a “complete bloodbath”, with one medic saying the inside of the hospital “looks like a slaughterhouse”. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) says Al-Aqsa and Nasser hospitals are “overwhelmed”.

Hamas’s military spokesman says Israel killed captives in its Nuseirat operation, without specifying the circumstances or how many were killed.

Egypt, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli attacks on Nuseirat Camp. “These attacks resulted in the deaths of over 150 Palestinian civilians and the injury of hundreds more, constituting a blatant violation of all provisions of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as all values of humanity and human rights,” said the statement.

Egypt holds Israel legally and morally responsible for this flagrant assault, demanding that Israel comply with its obligations as an occupying power and cease the indiscriminate targeting of Palestinian civilians, including those in areas where they have been displaced,” the foreign ministry said.

The statement also condemned the wanton destruction of all infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

Colombia will suspend coal exports to Israel

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said that his country will suspend coal exports to Israel over the war in Gaza, as relations between the two countries sour. Petro wrote on ‘X’ that coal exports will only resume “when the genocide” in Gaza stops. Petro also posted a draft decree, which says that coal exports will only resume if Israel withdraws its troops from the Gaza strip.

Russian envoy celebrates rescue of four hostages

Russian ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov celebrated the rescue of Russian-Israeli Andrey Kozlov and three other hostages. However, he did not mention Hamas or the October 7 terror attacks. “Without the full knowledge of the details of the rescue operation, I would like to share with the relatives and friends of the now former hostages the joy of the safe rescue,” he said.
