Michelle Obama's hairstylist has landed a deal to star in a reality show.
Johnny Wright styled the US first lady's coif for the Democratic National Conven-tion, her upcoming appear- ance on the cover of Vogue and other occasions. He has signed a deal with 44 Blue, which has produced other reality shows.
44 Blue executive vice president Stephanie Drachkovitch said she discovered Wright while searching for a reality host. "There aren't many people of color doing makeover and beauty," she said.
Drachkovitch said she was impressed with Wright before she knew his Obama connection. "We fell in love with him before we knew... There's a lot of hairstylists out there who do celebrities, but they can't centre a show."
But the well-timed Obama connection doesn't hurt. "It certainly raises [Wright's] profile," she added.
Drachkovitch will soon pitch the idea to cable networks.
