The last link to the girl who inspired Lewis Carroll is her granddaughter

Her grandmother was Alice Pleasance Liddell, inspiration for Lewis Carroll's classic. The acclaimed 3D epic film of the 1865 book, directed by Tim Burton, opened in US and UK this weekend.
"I can't say she would have approved of the film. It looks loud and manic, which wasn't her style.
"But I'm certainly looking forward to it - in the clips I've seen the Mad Hatter looks wonderful."
"I can remember an old lady on a chair. She had lovely gardens and she kept small hens, which would run in and out of bushes around her. To a child, the place really was a sort of Wonderland, and there was Alice herself, at the centre of it," she told The Mirror, UK.
"I was her only grandchild. In her letters to my parents, she often wrote how lovely it had been to have me visit her."
There has long been speculation about the relationship between Lewis Carroll - real name Charles Dodgson, a maths teacher at Oxford and friend of the Liddell family - and Alice.
The fictional Alice was created on a July afternoon in 1862 when Carroll took the 10-year-old on a river trip.
