Celebrity spotting

Welcome to the first installment of your weekly peek at what the rich and restless have been up to aka a rookie's guide to celebrity spotting (and for the glitterati a (reality) check to see who's guest list they've recently been bumped off!)

Monday night Gautam Singhania enjoyed a quiet meal and vino at the tasting room at Good Earth. On Tuesday, TC, Nathalie and Carl played host at Cafe Goa, Bandra.

Most of Mumbai's party pack came (as predicted by TC mock-panicking the night before, "...usually only about half the people you invite show up but this time everyone's saying 'Ya sure, we'll be there!' I'm a little worried!") He may have lost a few townies to a St.

Patrick's Day party where they urged everyone to "Save the Earth" via Earth hour (perhaps the fact that we'll only give the earth "an hour" is part of the problem).

Meanwhile, Shamita Singha's been SMSing everyone to Save the Birds (from dehydration) by putting out some water pots. FYI Kim Jagtiani is back in town from her travels and was at Zenzi on Tuesday too.

Earlier that night I had a hilarious conversation with the married half of the musical duo Salim-Sulaiman ruing the fact that while his upcoming honeymoon falls slap bang between two amazing U2 and Madonna concerts in Paris family and other animals were planning to crash the party!

Wednesday was Fashion at the Four Seasons followed by a glossy night at Olive, Mahalaxmi. Canada's ambassador of hip hop Kardinall Offishall was in town on Thursday rapping up a storm. Sumeet Chopra is having his birthday bash at home in Colaba tonight and its back to the race track this weekend...

The social scene is definitely less leggy since most of the model brigade is still in Delhi for Fashion Week. (Watch this space for your weekly fou-fou fix.)

P.S. Ratan Tata is launching his little wonder car at the Parsi Gymkhana on Monday. Ironically "the people's car" will be getting a glittering reception with corporate bigwigs and other VIPs who wouldn't be caught dead driving one!
