A Mi-17 air force helicopter carrying CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife Dr Madhulika Rawat and 12 others crashed in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor region, on Wednesday around noon.

The crash claimed lived of 13 of 14 passengers including CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife Dr Madhulika Rawat.
The chopper, which took off at 11:48 am, was descending and would have landed in 10 more minutes. It was reported missing at around 12:22 pm.
Locals of the area helped the search and rescue team in recovering the bodies.
In a video released by news agency ANI, final moments of the ill-fated chopper have been captured.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will today make a statement in both houses of Parliament on the helicopter crash.
