Two CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) personnel were killed and two others injured in a militant attack on a camp of security forces in Manipur's Bishnupur district early Saturday morning, according to police sources. The militants targeted an IRBn (India Reserve Battalion) camp at Naranseina in the Moirang Police Station area.

"The militants fired indiscriminately from hilltops, targeting the camp. It started around 12.30 am and continued till about 2.15 am. The militants also hurled bombs, one of which exploded in the outpost of CRPF's 128 battalion," a senior police officer said per the PTI report.
According to the news agency report, the deceased were identified as sub-inspector N Sarkar from Assam's Kokrajhar district and head constable Arup Saini from Bankura district in West Bengal. The injured, identified as Inspector Jadav Das and Constable Aftab Das, sustained splinter wounds and were admitted to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal. Fortunately, their condition is stable.
"The two injured personnel were admitted to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal. They are out of danger," the officer said per the agency report.
The CRPF personnel were deployed to provide security to the IRB camp. Search operations are currently underway to apprehend the attackers.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh condemned the attack, stating, "Such actions demonstrate cowardice against dedicated security personnel who work tirelessly day and night to uphold peace and stability in the state. Their sacrifice will not go in vain."
In response to the attack, security forces conducted search operations in Churachandpur district, resulting in the destruction of three bunkers and the recovery of four firearms. These operations targeted vulnerable areas in the hills and valleys of the district, where the militants may have taken refuge.
The recovered firearms and dismantled bunkers were found in areas near Naranseina, the site of the CRPF outpost attack, the report stated.
