Police said on Monday that three individuals were hurt in an unexplained blast that occurred in the Purmandal block of Sabha district's Khada Madana village. The explosion happened about 8:15 p.m. It is said that when nearby farmers lit their fields on fire as an agricultural technique, an old, corroded shell that was lying in a field burst.

The injured individuals are identified as Khada Madhana locals Suriya Bibi (58), wife of Shash Din, Rameet Singh (66), son of Sansar Singh, and Semroo Devi (76), wife of Dharam Chand. The trio was taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu after the bomb, according to the police, caused splinter injuries.
Further details are awaited. An explosion at an explosive factory in Bemetara, Chhatisgarh, on Saturday morning, resulted in six injuries earlier. Rescue and fire crews arrived at the scene. Some of the injured were taken to Mekahara and AIIMS facilities for specialised care, while the others were taken to hospitals in Raipur. Investigations are ongoing to determine the precise cause of the blast.
