The truck driver fled the scene after the accident on the Mumbra bypass and the police have launched a manhunt for him.

One person was killed and another was injured after a truck and a pickup van crashed onto a detention wall of a bypass and fell on the road below. This shocking incident took place in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Saturday, as reported by PTI.

The official said that the accident occurred around 1 pm on the Mumbra bypass.
“A pickup van crashed down on a cyclist passing on the road below, crushing him to death,” said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the civic disaster management cell.
The police informed the media agency that the van’s driver is currently in the hospital and is undergoing medical treatment. He has sustained injuries.
As per the media agency’s reports, the truck driver fled the scene after the accident on the Mumbra bypass and the police have launched a manhunt for him.
Another similar incident took place in Maharashtra’s Pune where a teen boy crashed his Porche killing 2 people on the spot. The boy’s name is Vedant Agarwal and is said to be the son of a well-known builder in Pune.
The boy’s grandfather is currently in police custody after a complaint was filed against him by the family's driver. It was found he, along with the kid’s parents had threatened the family driver to give statements taking the blame for the accident.
"Post the accident, the teen's grandfather and father allegedly took the driver's phone, and put him in confinement in his house on the premises of their bungalow from May 19 to May 20. The driver was freed by his wife," said the official from the crime branch.
A Porche was driven by a teen who was drunk as claimed by the police at the time. He killed two people who were software engineers in Kalyani Nagar area of the city. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday.
The teenager has been remanded to an observation home till June 5.
