Several members of the political fraternity mourned the demise of comedian-actor Raju Srivastava. Raju Srivastava passed away on Wednesday after over 40 days of hospitalisation, said his brother Dipoo Srivastava. He was 58.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences to the late comedian saying, "Raju Srivastava brightened our lives with laughter, humour and positivity. He leaves us too soon but he will continue to live in the hearts of countless people thanks to his rich work over the years. His demise is saddening. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti."



Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences to his family and fans. "Renowned comedian Raju Srivastava ji had a unique style, he impressed everyone with his amazing talent. His death is a great loss to the art world. I express my condolences to his family and fans. May God give them the strength to bear this grief," he tweeted.

"I am deeply saddened by the passing away of renowned comedian, Raju Srivastava ji. Apart from being an accomplished artist, he was also a very lively person. He was also very active in the social field. I extend my condolences to his bereaved family and fans. Shanti!," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended his condolences on Twitter.

Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, "the news of the demise of comedy lovers 'Gajodhar' Shri Raju Srivastava ji is sad. He presented a new form of comedy genre to the country. His passing is a great loss of art. May God rest his soul in peace and give courage to his family and loved ones."
