Rajasthan accident: Seven killed, two injured after head-on collision between car and truck in Hanumangarh

Rajasthan accident: Seven members of a family were reportedly killed while two others were injured in a head-on collision between a car and a truck in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district, police said on Sunday, reported the PTI.


According to the PTI, the accident occurred on Saturday night when the family was returning home from a function.


SHO Ved Pal said those killed were identified as Paramjeet Kaur (60), Khushvinder Singh (25), his wife Paramjeet Kaur (22), son Manjot Singh (5), Rampal (36), his wife Reena (35) and daughter Reet (12), as per the PTI.


The injured, who have been identified as Akashdeep Singh (14) and Manraj Kaur (2), were referred to a hospital in Bikaner.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem.

Meanwhile, in an another incident in Maharashtra earlier this week, nine persons were killed and 27 others suffered injuries in Beed district, in two separate road accidents. The first accident occurred when a private bus, speeding along its route from Mumbai to Beed, overturned at Aashta Fata around 6 am on Thursday, situated about 120 km from its destination. The bus, reportedly traveling at high speed, veered out of control, leading to the tragic incident.

The police promptly launched a rescue operation, enlisting the assistance of local residents. In the aftermath of the accident, five persons lost their lives, with four hailing from the Beed district and one from Yavatmal. An additional 26 passengers sustained injuries and were transported to various hospitals for medical attention. The victims were identified as Dhondiba Shinde, Deodatt Peche, Mohammad Asif Dost Mohammed Khan, Ashok Bhondve, and Ravi Godambe.

The second accident occurred when a speeding ambulance, en route to Ahmednagar, collided with a truck from the rear near Ambhora on Dhamangaon-Ahmednagar Road in Beed at approximately 9.30 pm on Wednesday. In this tragic incident, four individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained injuries. The ambulance driver and two other passengers succumbed to their injuries at the accident site, while a doctor traveling in the ambulance later passed away during treatment at a private hospital in Ahmednagar. The deceased were identified as Dr. Rajesh Jhinjurke (35) and ambulance driver Bharat Lokhande (35), both from Ashti, along with Manoj Tirpude and Pappu Tirkhunde from Pathardi. The injured individual was transported to a hospital for medical care.
