At least 10 people have been injured in a stampede during a cultural function at the 'Malyabanta Mahostav' in Odisha's Malkangiri district, police said Wednesday.


The incident took place on Tuesday evening, they said.


There was a huge rush of around 40,000 people at the DNK Ground, which has a capacity to accommodate close to 20,000 people, police said.

Three people, including a woman, suffered critical injuries, but their condition is stated to be stable, they said.

All the injured have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital here.
