The police received a tip-off that the victim was last seen with the accused, and on interrogation, he confessed to killing the elderly man, the official said.

Devrao and Arvind had consumed liquor at the spot on Wednesday afternoon, and the former had bought food, he said.

The duo quarreled over sharing food, and the accused allegedly attacked the man with a wooden stick on his head and killed him on the spot, the official said, adding that a case of murder has been registered.
