A free vaccination drive was organised by Mumbai North Central District Forum (MNCDF) for 500 tribals from different villages in Palghar district on Sunday. The vaccines were sponsored by SBI and administered by staff of Nanavati Max hospital and technical expertise managed by Healing Salve. The aim was to encourage vaccinations in remote villages to ensure vaccine consistency, availability and work towards eradicating vaccine hesitancy in rural Maharashtra.

"This is the third vaccination drive we have organised. The previous two were in the jurisdiction limits of Mumbai. This drive for tribals is being done to inoculate maximum number of citizens across rural Maharashtra and eradicate vaccine hesitancy," said Advocate Trivankumar Karnani from MNCDF.

The NGO had put banners in regional languages in multiple tribal villages informing about the vaccination drive across Palghar district. They also reached out to the sarpanchs of different villages to inform tribals and villagers about the free vaccination drive. "Our team educated the villagers about the importance of vaccination and invited them to get inoculated free of cost. The beneficiaries who are taking their first dose, will get their second as well, as we will organise a drive once again for them," Karnani added.
