The Kerala High Court on Tuesday dismissed actor Dileep's plea to quash the new FIR registered against him alleging conspiracy to kill the investigating officers in actress attack case.

As an alternate plea, the actor had sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation if the court was not inclined to quash the case.
While declining to interfere, justice Kauser Edappagath said the further investigation should go on and should be completed before April 15th. The court also said it has not considered the veracity or genuineness of the evidence so far collected by the crime branch team.
It was alleged by the actor that the case was registered by crime branch in its attempt to create false evidence against him in the actress attack case. The investigating officer in the actress assault case had created false unsigned statements of film director Balachandra Kumar so as to wreak vengeance on him, Dileep had contended.
A false complaint was filed by the investigating officer in actress assault case before ADGP S Sreejith so as to register an FIR on the basis of the statements of the director, it was alleged by the actor.
It was also claimed by the actor that the film director had close acquaintance with the ADGP. In the plea, the actor cites a message sent by the director to the ADGP in October 2020 as evidence for this acquaintance.
Dileep’s plea had also said the ADGP was involved in the making of a movie named ‘Out of Syllabus’ and that it is feared that the ADGP would fabricate evidence against him as the actress of the movie had taken a stand against him publicly. No fair investigation would be carried out as all the members of the crime branch team were involved in the preparation of the final report in the actress assault case, he had contended while seeking a CBI probe.
