Prime Minister Narendra Modi was briefed by his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on the ongoing situation as his country carries out retaliatory strikes against Hamas. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, Modi said on Tuesday. “I thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his phone call and providing an update on the ongoing situation. People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” he said on X. Israeli warplanes have pounded the Gaza Strip after its Hamas militant rulers launched an unprecedented weekend attack on Israel.



Indian in Gaza seeks evacuation


Fearing for their life amid continuous bombardments by Israel, an Indian woman living in Gaza with her family on Tuesday sought an immediate evacuation from the war-torn Hamas-ruled enclave. “We are facing a brutal war here and everything is being destroyed in bombarded in a matter of seconds. We are paying the price of this conflict as civilians are being targeted,” Lubna Nazir Shaboo, an Indian from Jammu & Kashmir living in Gaza, told PTI over the phone. “The sounds of bombardment are too scary and the whole house shakes. It is a very, very scary situation,” Shaboo said.

Ensure safety of Indians: Kerala CM

As the war between the Hamas militant outfit and the Israeli defence forces continues, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to ensure the safety of Indian citizens in Israel.

Israel embassy boosts security

The Delhi Police has beefed up security around the Israeli embassy and Chabad House after the Israel-Hamas conflict. The local police stationed around both locations, has been directed to maintain a tight vigil,  an official said on Tuesday.
