CM says it’s a big day for Punjab, and emphasis on need to vote for a person who will take Punjab’s voice to the Centre

Today marked the last phase of voting in various states, including Punjab, where citizens, despite the soaring heat, came out in significant numbers to cast their votes. This phase of voting included 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab. Numerous politicians, alongside the general populace, participated in the voting process, showcasing a strong commitment to the democratic process.

While there have been various issues and concerns raised by politicians throughout the campaign period, the ultimate decision rests with the voters. The choices made by the citizens of Punjab and other states will be revealed on June 4.
However, till 5 pm, the Punjab state saw around 55.20 % voting across the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies. As per the data provided by the Election Commission of India authorities, the voting percentage was Gurudaspur at 58. 34%, Amritsar at 48.55%, Khadoor Sahib at 55.90%, Jalandhar at 53.66%, Hoshiarpur at 52.39%, Anandpur Sahib at 55.02, Ludhiana at 52.22%, Fatehgarh Sahib at 54.55%, Faridkot at 54.38%, Firozpur at 57.68%, Bhatinda at 59.25, Sangrur at 57.21% and Patiala at 58.18%.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of Punjab too came to cast his vote along with his wife Gurpreet Kaur and said, “It’s a big day for Punjab today as people are coming to vote. Punjab has an history of an average of 70 to 80 per cent coming to vote. We appeal to the citizens to vote for the right candidate who will be there for them, bring about change in Punjab and make the voice of Punjab react the Centre,” he said. However, the farmers protest at the Punjab and Haryana borders continues to grow stronger.
