As per the sources, the police conducted a 72-hour search operation Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, resulting in the arrest of three accused from Rajasthan and one from Jharkhand. The main shooter, Pappu Singh, is also in the custody of police.
According to ANI, the suspects that were arrested were working for a person called Mayank Singh who was the mastermind and is based in Malaysia. The accusers were in constant contact with Mayank and executed the targets of Lawrence Bishnoi and Aman Sahu's gang. They also used codenames and changed their identities to execute the plan.
The gang members were working from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan. The police arrested them before they could execute the crime and a pistol was also recovered from them, reported by ANI.
In a press conference, IG Raipur Amresh Mishra stated, "Upon receiving intelligence inputs, we conducted a 72-hour search operation in three states and nabbed these suspects. Acting on the instructions from their mastermind Mayank Singh in Malaysia, they executed targets of Lawrence Bishnoi and Aman Sahu gang. They came here to target businesses, particularly in Chhattisgarh, but we intercepted them before they could act."
He also said that they formed the gang while in jail and used applications that did not provide any data about them. He added that the team arrested them before they could delete any data or mobile numbers.
He further said that these are international gangs and NIA registered a case against them. The police are tracking the locations of other gang members to apprehend them as well.
The Bishnoi gang, within India, maintains operations in seven states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh. The gang operates digitally with approximately 1,000 individuals and includes sharpshooters, criminals, and suppliers.
On April 14, few members from the gang lead shooting outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence. This incident sent shockwaves through the Bandra area of Mumbai.
