India reported 54 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, according to Union Health Ministry data.


According to the data, India presently has 1,484 active case.


The death toll was recorded at 5,31,926, the data showed. The country's Covid case tally is 4.49 crore (4,49,96,786).


The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 4,44,63,376, , according to the health ministry's website.

The national recovery rate stands at 98.81 per cent.

As per the data, the case fatality rate of India stands at 1.18 per cent.

Tha data further stated that a total of 220.67 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 26 new Covid-19 cases and zero deaths on Wednesday.

Nine patients were discharged today taking the total tally of recovered patients to 80,21,816.

"The recovery rate of Maharashtra stands at 98.18 per cent," said the health official.

"The case fatality rate in Maharashtra is 1.81 per cent, " added the health official.

Out of 8,74,69,353 laboratory samples 81,70,517 have tested positive (9.34 per cent) for Covid-19 until today.

Maharashtra presently has 127 active cases.

At present dominant variant of Covid is Omicron XBB.1.16. Total 1733 cases were found to be infected with this variant. There were 19 deaths reported among the cases of this variant.
