“I don’t fear death…I don’t want ‘Z’ category security, make me an ‘A’ category citizen,” news agency ANI quoted him saying.
He also appealed to the government to end “radicalization” and demanded the shooters be charged with UAPA.
The Government of India, after reviewing the level of threat, had provided him ‘Z’ security after 3-4 rounds of bullets were fired at his convoy when he was leaving Meerut's Kithoudh area for Delhi after poll campaigning.
Two men have been in connection with the cases and have been remanded in 14-day judicial custody.
