A 46-year-old woman who is a criminal on police record has been externed from the district for a year. The action was taken on Tuesday against Sharda Kumar Gaikwad from Balajinagar by the Bhosari police, who claim she is the first woman from Pimpri-Chinchwad to be externed from the district.
Gaikwad has 12 offences registered against her, including house break-in and thefts, among others. "Gaikwad used to help her accomplices in selling the stolen items. She has been active in the Bhosari area for the last five years and has 12 cases registered against her," Police Inspector Sudhir Aspat from Bhosari police station said. "Most of the crimes committed by Gaikwad are from the MIDC Bhosari area."
