Two farmers were injured after a leopard strayed into their farms from Saptashringi forest area and attacked them, police said today

The incident took yesterday when Nana Sayyad (34) and Nandkishore Pawar (35) were working in their fields at Mandane village in Dindori tehsil of the district, they said, adding the duo have been admitted in the district civil hospital.u00a0

The big cat was later tamed and captured by the forest officials from the spot. In another incident, a mutilated carcass of a four-year-old leopard was found at Nanashi forest range, officials said.u00a0

The teeth, nails, tail and ears of the big cat were removed, allegedly by the poachers, they said, adding the leopard might have been been poisoned to death.
