A tiger cub was found dead on Sunday at the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan, a forest department official said.

"A tiger cub, around one year old, and belonging to the T-8 tigress, was found dead today (Sunday) in Zone 6 (Kundal area) of the park. We conducted a post-mortem examination and found that the cub was either killed by a tiger or by some other wild animal," a forest department official told IANS over phone.

The Rajasthan government has plans to shift some tigers from the Ranthambore National Park to other parks in the state, following an increase in the number of big cats and territorial fights between them
At least five tigers have been killed in territorial fights among the over the past five years in Ranthambore in Sawai Madhopur district, some 150 km from Jaipur
As per the official, the tiger population in the park is presently estimated at around 60, including cubs.
