The Guide checked out Indijoe's and found it a value-for-money place to visit with friends and family for some global cuisine

Indijoe's
Food: Yummy
Service: Lost
Ambience: Bustling

Mall hopping can give anyone a healthy appetite, so when we came across a new eatery at Jewel Square that offers global cuisine, we had high expectations.

We found the eatery to be buzzing with activity thanks to hungry shoppers. There's a lot of open space, which makes it look like a cool place to hang out. The eatery has a garden theme with grass boundaries in between the restaurant, which gives it a lively look.

The buffet lunch is served at noon and there are no other a-la-carte menu options in the afternoon. Hence, we eagerly made our way to sample the Lunch Buffet (Rs 303 all inclusive). The sumptuous spread included a mix of Continental, Oriental and Indian cuisine and offered salads, starters, soups, main course and desserts.

We opted for the Chicken Hot and Sour Soup, which was a tad bland for our liking. For starters, there were crisp and well-cooked Cheese Rolls, which had less oil. That will definitely find many takers among the health-conscious brigade. We tried the Chicken Tikka, which we found to be tender and yummy while the Cheese Balls were crisp and fresh.u00a0

The Veg Pizza had cheese and mushroom toppings but was extra-cheesy. The pizzas were kept on a hot plate and you just had to pick pieces from that, which was an innovative touch.

For the main course, we tried the Green Thai Curry and Chicken Wings and Corn and Mushrooms in Brown Gravy (black sauce). All the dishes were too non-spicy for our Indian taste and we craved for something chatpata.

Then, the two non-veg dishes arrived -- Chicken in Red Gravy and Lamb with Pepper Sauce. Both the dishes were yummy and the lamb was well-cooked with a perfect blend of spices.

We couldn't resist the pasta and tried the Cheese and Chicken Pasta in Red Sauce, but to our dismay it turned out to be just average. Lastly, from the spread of desserts, we had the Chocolate Ice-cream and Chocolate Mousse, which were yummy and served as a perfect end to our exhaustive lunch.

The attendants are polite but seemed a wee bit lost. When we walked in, we even had to wait a while despite a few tables being free.
