Head to the NFAI this weekend for some great movies at the Ang Lee Retrospective Film Festival

Every film lover worth his salt is acquainted with the works of Taiwanese American filmmaker Ang Lee. Known for directing films such as Eat Drink Man Woman and Brokeback Mountain, it was a natural choice for the National Film Archives of India (NFAI) and the Directorate of Film Festivals to screen his films. The archive has already screened films from Korea, China, Israel and other countries from Asia. Most of the films the archive maintains are exclusive and very few have access to them.u00a0u00a0

The festival line-up includes five of the best films by the director including Fine Line, Punishing Hands, The Wedding Banquet, Eat Drink Man Woman and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Vijay Jadhav, Director, NFAI, says, "This is akin to a cultural exchange of film and culture. We want young and budding filmmakers from the city to learn more about diverse film-making styles that great directors follow. This will be an entertaining as well as a learning experience for many." The inauguration will feature a screening of a special video sent by Lee especially for fans. In the video, he will talk about his work and his association with various producers.

Till: August 8, 6 pm to 8 pm
At: National Film Archive of India, opposite Barista, Law College Road.
