Rajahmundry: A four-year-old girl was allegedly forced by her teacher to sit on an iron playground slide, which had turned burning hot in the mid-day sun, after the toddler urinated inside the class at a private school in East Godavari district, police said today.

The girl Jwalastri, a student of LKG in the school in Chataparru village, sustained burns on her private parts due to the incident.

"Jwalasri's teacher Anjana Devi punished her for urinating inside classroom by forcing her sit on a hot iron slide at school," Eluru DSP Sarita said.

"Her private parts sustained injuries. The girl was then taken to hospital and the issue has been informed to the child authorities as well," she added.

The girl's parents lodged a complaint against the school principal Dhanalakshmi and teacher Anajan Devi in this connection.

Police have registered a case under section 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 341 (wrongful restraint).

After the incident, the students organisation staged a sit-in protest in front the school demanding action against the teacher.
