The SSC results were out yesterday by 11 am. There were no frantic calls to the helpline, no panicky students or parents at schools and no confusion at cyber cafes as the board managed to execute things smoothly.
The helpline numbers that were provided by the education board did not receive many calls from students trying to find out their results because of the various other options available with them.
Along with the board's website, various mobile service providers had sent messages to customers informing them that they could check their result through SMS. The service providers asked the users to send their roll numbers and the result was made available at a nominal cost.
There were several centres including one at Congress Bhavan where more than 2,000 students got a printout of their result. Also, the two helpline numbers received only around 1,000 calls from students.
At ease
A representative of the helpline services said most of the students sounded confident. "We really did not get any frantic calls as students were mostly calling to check or recheck their numbers," said the representative.
"For the students who had failed, we asked them to call us back later as we did not want to disturb them by letting them know their marks."
The overall result in the city has not been disappointing, said most educational counsellors.u00a0
The students will receive marksheets on June 22 from their schools. The board will present the marks in best of five options to bring students on par with the CBSE, ICSE and other boards.
