A Shiv Sena worker, on Tuesday attempted to throw ink on their own party MP Sanjay Raut in clash in Lucknow.

"A Shiv Sainik attempted to throw ink on Raut in front the VVIP guest house here this afternoon," party sources said.

According tosources, the clothes of a worker standing a little distance from Raut were smeared and the man and his accomplice were overpowered.

Raut was in Lucknow to meet Sena members and take stock of the situation ahead of assembly polls next year. He said that he has come to know of some problems in the party and will look into them.

The police have arrested two men in connection with the attack and one of them has received minor injuries in the incident.

According to sources, rival factions in the party clashed with each other.

Earlier, Raut had slammed film actor Salman Khan for his statement that Pakistani artistes are not terrorists. Reacting to Khan’s statement Raut said, "Salim Khan is a true Indian. But, Salman has not learned anything from his father, it seems. Salman keeps getting his father and other family members in trouble by making controversial statements. Salim Khan senior should lock Salman at home to avoid controversies," Raut told mid-day.
