If his personal diary is anything to go by, the Ichchadhari Sant has rhythm in his soul; and he has bowled over the Delhi Police

Sex, sleaze and poetry make for an unlikely trio. But the infamous Shiv Rajeev Ranjan Dwivedi, aka Ichchadhari

Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj Chitrakoot Wale or Sex Baba, as he's known today, stands testimony to this extraordinary analogy.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0

The police are impressed. "He is a good thinker and writes poems," said H G S Dhaliwal, District Commissioner of Police, south Delhi. However, they aren't sure if all his writings are original works. "We don't know if his poems were original or inspired or copied just to improve his handwriting. We will investigate when we get his police custody," he added. "If he has written it himself, it is great."

The police suspect this to be the 'other side' of his personality. They believe the passages were used to influence and persuade people to join his unscrupulous sect and the 'pimp guru' used to talk to different people in different tones and styles, depending on where they featured in his scheme of things.u00a0

Another astonishing discovery was how the Baba lent money to borrowers at an interest of 7 per cent per annum. The diary also reveals that he was expecting donations worth over Rs 100 crore, and the hefty amount was to come from Las Vegas. Clearly, his otherwise spiritual soul had room for materialism.

The diary also lists the locations from where his racket flourished in the Capital. Besides the temple at Khanpur, these include posh colonies like CR Park, Sector 3 RK Puram, Bhikaji Cama Place, Safdarjung Enclave and Devli. "The accused often used a place in Shimla as his summer getaway. We are investigating some other properties in Pune, Varanasi, Lucknow and Bangalore to find out if these belonged to Dwivedi," the investigating officer said.

The police had arrested Dwivedi on February 26, and are likely to invoke stringent legal provisions against him. "We are looking into whether charges could be slapped on him under the provisions of MCOCA, which allows us to furnish as evidence confession that the accused made before a senior official not below the rank of a DCP," added Dhaliwal.
