Auto driver was found with arms in his possession
Officials from the Mumbai Crime Branch (Unit VI) who are probing the Sandhya Singh murder case picked up a contract killer from Navi Mumbai last night on suspicion in an arms case.

Officials picked up Mohammed Arif Mehendi Hassan, a resident of Mankhurd, an auto driver in Nerul area. “Hassan was picked up as he we found him carrying arms on him and we will investigate further,” said a Crime Branch officer.
The cops said Hassan had a history of crime. Hassan, who was out on bail, was convicted in a contract killing of a housewife in Mulund and had two other cases pending against him. Authorities believe him to have been involved in the Sandhya Singh case as he was present in Nerul during the time of the murder.
“If he has any role in this case we will come to know only when we interrogate him. We will produce him in court on Friday and ask that he be remanded to police custody,” said an official. Sandhya Singh, sister of yesteryear Vijeta Pandit went missing on December 13, 2012 from Nerul in Navi Mumbai. On January 28, her skeleton was found by a British photographer on the Palm Beach road.
