The cops posted at the venue for the security of dignitaries were paid a mereu00a0Rs 16,000 for their services, whereas the wedding invitation cards that were sent to the VVIPs cost approximately Rs 7,000 each.
The city police department had deputed over 30 cops along with the Bangalore Canine Squad for securing the premises.
ACP Ramachandrappa of the city police said, "A high number of police officials were needed to protect the dignitaries. However, officers got only Rs 250 each for the tough job they did that night."
Those who attended the wedding included Opposition leader Siddaramaiah, senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, RV Deshpande, DB Chandregouda, Katta Subramanya Naidu, Narendra Babu, Roshan Baig and Mayor S Nataraj.
