“I am happy, as I was waiting for this day for over two months. We all welcome the bail given to Laluji by the Supreme Court, and are happy to greet him here on Saturday,” said Rabri Devi. Rabri Devi said she had full faith in the judiciary, and her faith has been vindicated by the grant of her husband’s plea for bail.
“I was hopeful that he would be released, and that has proven right,” she said, adding that in due course, Lalu Prasad would also be acquitted. Describing her sorrow at her husband’s absence, Rabri Devi said: “I was sad, feeling alone without Laluji. But now this phase will be over. Laluji will come out of jail, and start a normal life.”
She added, “Laluji is always in my heart. No one can take him away.” She said that in view of the Supreme Court verdict, Lalu Prasad would not contest the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Convicted last September by a special CBI court in Ranchi, Jharkhand, in one of the fodder scam cases, Lalu Prasad was sentenced to five years in jail.
