There were three lectures, for an hour each, beginning at 11 am on Saturday. Assistant Inspector Dhanraj Shinde of the Vashi RTO, who gave a lecture on driver safety said, “School bus drivers transport young students, and their safety is very important and hence it is important that those driving the bus know what safety rules they have to abide by to keep children safe. Informing them regarding issues such as driver safety and fire safety helps in case of emergencies and can save many lives.”
There was also a lecture on fire safety and driving etiquettes. Balaji Wattewar, a representative who provides bus drivers to various schools in Navi Mumbai, said, “The seminar helped educate drivers about what they have to do in worst case scenarios. We even discussed a situation where an accident occurs or a child is sick. These among other things taught them to be better drivers and will help a lot of people.”u00a0
