The Pune division of MTDC has been working hard to turn the heritage building into luxurious suites, without touching the exterior of the heritage structure. Some of the 24 suites are even ready to welcome the guests.

“The heritage structure housed the Raj Bhavan in the British era. Afterwards, parts of it were handed over to MTDC. However, we could not renovate it due to its heritage structure.
So we decided to change the interior and construct 24 lavish rooms out of it,” said MTDC Pune division head Naina Bondarde. The rooms are fitted with ethnic furniture and fittings.
“The wood for the furniture and fireplace, as well as the other equipment like night lamps, photo frames displayed on the walls of the rooms, have been brought from Jammu and Kashmir,” added Bondarde.
The experience, however, comes at a cost. “The tariff per day for each suite is between Rs 5,000 and 7,500,” added Bondarde.
