While pothole-ridden roads have led to several injuries and deaths, in Nashik they were responsible for two women delivering babies in autorickshaws.

Two women delivered in autorickshaws in separate incidents in the district today apparently due to potholed roads, authorities said.u00a0


Sangita Nirbhavne, a resident of a tribal hamlet, was going to a primary health centre (PHC) in an auto when she went into labour due to pockmarked Lasalgaon-Nimgaon road. She gave birth to a baby boy, PHC sources said.


In similar incident, one Savita Gite, a resident of Ambegaon in Yeola taluka, was going to a PHC at Nimgaon Wakada village in an autorickshaw when she went into labour due to bumps on road.u00a0
