Police officials said that the incident took place after Bagul was tagged in a picture on Facebook, where Sonia Gandhi was seen feeding terrorist Ajmal Kasab with biryani. The four arrested persons are identified as Ramesh Lagas (50), Rajendra Lagas (45), Rajesh Ingawale (21) and Sunil Shinde (34), who are residents of Taware Colony and Parvati Darshan area. The remaining 16 suspects are still on the run and police inspector Seema Mehendale is further investigating into the case.u00a0

Bagul went to the police station on Friday night and filed a complaint himself since the PMC security officers did not take the initiative. Following Bagul's written complaint, the city Congress President Abhay Chhajed has dismissed Ramesh and Rajendra Lagas from the post of party office bearers at Sahakarnagar and Parvati Darshan respectively.u00a0

Civic body Deputy Mayor, Prasanna Jagtap, has condemned the attack on Bagul. He said, "Bagul is not a tech savvy person and somebody has taken advantage of this situation and tagged the controversial picture on Facebook. u00a0

The Shivajinagar police have however, questioned the security at PMC main building. A senior police, requesting anonymity, said, "When the civic body has their own security system and is capable of preventing any untoward incident inside their premise, it is a matter of concern that the PMC officials could not stop the mob who ransacked the leader's office. It has become a headache for us, as we have to put aside other work and rush to the PMC building."u00a0
