A police constable, who was questioned in connection with the Vyapam scam, allegedly committed suicide on Monday, by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Orccha

Tikamgarh (MP): A police constable, who was questioned in connection with the Vyapam scam, allegedly committed suicide on Monday, by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Orccha here, an official said.


The constable, identified as Ramakant Panda (40), was found hanging at his residence in the morning, Orchha police
station in-charge Dilip Singh Yadav told PTI.


Ramakant's daughter called up Yadav to inform that he was not responding on his mobile phone since yesterday
following which she got suspicious. Later, a police team went to his residence and broke open the window to enter the house.


Police found the constable's body hanging from a ceiling fan in his room. At the time of the incident, Panda was alone at home.

A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is on, police added.
