PMC may hike property tax by 6 per cent

The Standing Committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) yesterday contemplated on increasing property tax in the city by 6 per cent. Earlier, Municipal Commissioner Mahesh Pathak, while presenting the annual budget for 2013-14, had suggested an increase of 8 per cent in property tax, and an additional Rs 100 in each slab for the recovery of water tax.

However, the Chairman of the Standing Committee Baburao Chandere said that the decision on water tax would be taken later.
