One held for visa fraud

A 22-year-old man was arrested for visa fraud on Sunday. The accused, Ajinder Singh of Vishnu Garden, approached the US Embassy for a religious visa, showing he was 21 years old.

During scrutiny of his passport, an official realised he had earlier come with a different passport. He then informed the Chanakyapuri police. A senior police officer said Singh wanted to get a visa to meet his father, who is a priest in a gurdwara in the US.

He first tried to get a visa through normal procedure but was denied. He then tried to get a religious tour visa, that is provided to people 21 years, or lesser, of age. Singh used a new passport based on fake birth certificate.
