Doctor wants Ayesha Siddiqui, who weighs 120-kg to watch the Eddy Murphy-starrer, before she begins her weight loss programme

Dr Sadiqa Umaima Babar is a doctor with a mission. She has pledged to help Ayesha Siddiqui lose 70 kg.

The good doctor has even enlisted an ally who will make the 10-month journey lighter for Ayesha Eddy Murphy's character Sherman Klump in the Hollywood blockbuster The Nutty Professor.

The Movie

The movie, which portrays a grossly overweight professor whose wish to lose weight finally becomes a reality, is expected to prepare Ayesha for her weigh loss programme.

A Closure

Ayesha, who got a closure of sorts after she compelled Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik to divorce her, has reportedly agreed to suggestions by family members and friends to lose some of her 120 kg.

Her divorce followed a complaint against Shoaib at the Banjara Hills police station, and Ayesha reportedly expressed her wishes to remarry.

Shoaib had allegedly taunted Ayesha about her increasing weight when they were married.

"Ayesha should ideally weigh 50 kg. She needs to shed more than half her present weight, which is possible provided she is willing to go for it.

I know her as a girl with a lot of grit and determination and I have no doubt that she will succeed," said Dr Sadiqa Umaima Babar, a certified physician from American Board of Bariatric Medicine.

Upset with Media

Ayesha, who is understandably upset with the media attention that she attracted after she publicly demanded that Shoaib divorce her before he married Sania Mirza.

"When Ayesha was with Shoaib, she went into a depression of sorts, which turned her into a compulsive eater. This aggravated her natural predisposition for gaining weight," said Babar.

Ayesha is also believed to have strayed from the strict diet that patients who undergo a silicon binding operation are advised to follow.

"Ayesha did not heed diet regulations laid down for her because she felt dejected, since Shoaib was not impressed with her new looks.

This set her on the path of obesity again," explained Babar, who said the weight loss regimen would be based entirely on medicine and diet. It will not involve surgery.

Long Acquaintance

Dr Sadiqa Umaima Babar knows Ayesha since they were children. Their families were neighbours in Jeddah. The doctor's father Dr Syed Samsh Babar is a close friend of Siddiquis.

"I expect our long acquaintance to help Ayesha's treatment at the Times Hospital in Hyderabad," said Dr Babar.
